Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In 2023, Uzbekistan became the main importer of grain and flour from Kazakhstan.

According to the publication eldala.kz, in 2023 Kazakhstan exported 9 million tons of grain and 2.2 million tons of flour.

“Uzbekistan remained the main buyer, which purchased 4.5 million tons of wheat and flour in grain equivalent,” the publication writes.

At the same time, the company KTZ-Freight Transportation LLP will purchase 1.2 million tons of grain from Kazakhstan in January 2024.

The company notes that at the beginning of January, the number of trains sent to Uzbekistan increased noticeably - up to 32-33 trains per day.
