Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan imported 48,055 passenger cars from January to August 2024, according to the Statistics Agency.

The total value of these imports amounted to US$912 million, the agency reports.

The number of imported passenger cars increased by 8,352 units compared to the same period in 2023.

During the eight months of 2024, 38,085 cars were imported from China.

Additionally, 8,729 cars were imported from South Korea, 622 from the USA, 139 from Japan, and 104 from Germany.

Earlier, it was reported that from January to August 2024, Uzbekistan imported 12,913 electric vehicles from abroad, worth US$166.8 million.
