Uzbekistan Havo Yollari starts reconstruction of Navoi Airport’s passenger terminal
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways), a national airline of Uzbekistan, is planning to commission new passenger terminal at the Navoi city airport, Department of exploitation of land establishments and management of airports of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari Rustam Qadirov said on 18 August 2011.

Uzbekistan Havo Yollari said that it is successfully implementing investment project on creation of intermodal logistic center at Navoi Airport.

In 2010, new cargo terminal has been launched in Navi Airport in 2010 and it can cover all spectrum of transport services on receiving freight, storing and sending.

According to statistics, the CARGO terminal processed 24,700 tonnes of freight in the first half of 2011.

Cargo transportations through Navois are executed to Brussels, Saragossa, Milan, Shanghai, Vienna, Frankfurt, Bangkok, Delhi, Mumbai, Dhaka, Istanbul, Doha, Dubai and Bishkek. Flights to such directions as Almaty, Moscow, Riga and Hanoi are under development now.

As further development of the complex, the reconstruction and expansion of passenger terminal at Navoi airport has been started in 2011. This will allow to increase capacity to 400 passengers an hour. Terminal will be commissioned in 2012.

The project included to list of investment projects on developing infrastructure, transport and communication for 2011-2015. The cost of the project is US$5.5 million.
