The airline said the reconstruction works were the largest in 80 year history of the oldest airport of Uzbekistan.

Airport building, check-points, barriers along airport, aviation-technical base were reconstructed and modernized. The airline added that the airport worked in normal mode during the reconstruction works.

The reconstruction allowed to expand capacity of the airport and number of flights, including foreign airlines, to Samarkand, one of the tourism centers of Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan Havo Yollari it started the second phase of reconstruction, during which arrival terminal will be expanded and re-equipped.
