Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan does not have the ability to sell gas and oil. This was stated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a meeting with entrepreneurs on 18 August.

According to him, Uzbekistan cannot ensure a high level of economic growth through the sale of oil and gas.

“We cannot ensure high economic growth through the sale of oil and gas resources, like some countries. We do not have such resources. And those that are, we need, as the population increases. We cannot sell,” the head of Uzbekistan said.

Oil and gas are high-value, high-quality products that are created from raw materials by enterprising entrepreneurs. We do not have the ability to sell gas and oil, we ourselves need it, the President added.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that Uzbekistan is working to create added value from raw materials and resources.

He noted that Uzbekistan exports kaolin and buys products and kaolin back. “But we didn’t do that until recently. Great opportunities, means, conditions will be created in this area, large projects will be implemented,” the President added.
