Uzbekistan ranked fifth in the CIS with the GDP growth rate of 9.1% in January-April 2007, according to the CIS State Statistics Committee.
The first among CIS countries is Azerbaijan with the growth rate of 37.1%. It is followed by Armenia (11.1%), Kazakhstan (10.5%), and Georgia ( 9.4%). Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan demonstrated equal GDP growth rates.
GDP growth is somewhat lower in Belarus (8.7%), Russia (8.3%), Ukraine (7.9%) and Tajikistan (5.9%).
The average GDP growth rate across the CIS for the reporting period made up 9%.
