Uzbekistan gets US$5.581bn remittances from Russia in 2014
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The volume of remittances sent from Russia to Uzbekistan made up US$6.239 billion in 2014, which fell by 13.3% compared to 2013, the Central Bank of Russia said.

The Russian Central Bank said that remittances for US$5.581 billion were sent from Russia to Uzbekistan in 2014, which decreased by 15.86% compared to 2013. The volume of remittances from Uzbekistan to Russian grew by 16.87% year-on-year to US$658 million in 2014.

The sum of one transaction from Russia to Uzbekistan fell from US$593 in 2013 to US$563 in 2014 and vice-versa from US$1,901 in 2013 to US$1,876 in 2014.

The Russian regulator said that the volume of remittances between Uzbekistan and Russia fell by 37.23% year-on-year to US$1.177 billion in the fourth quarter of 2014.

In the last quarter of 2014, Uzbekistan received US$989 million of remittances from Russia, which fell by 42.64% compared to the same period of 2013. The volume of remittances from Uzbekistan to Russia rose by 24.5% to US$188 million.

The sum of one transaction from Russia to Uzbekistan fell from US$645 in the fourth quarter of 2013 to US$498 in the same period of 2014 and vice-versa from US$1,824 to US$1,782.

The fall of the volume of remittances is connected with difficult economic situation in Russia and fluctuations of the exchange rate of the Russian ruble in the end of 2013.

The Central Bank of Russia monitors such money transfer systems as Anelik, BLIZKO, Contact, InterExpress, UNIStream, Western Union, Kolibri, Zolotaya Korona, LIDER, and Pochta Rossii.
