The award was received for archeological researches at Jarkutan, Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan, Embassy of France in Tashkent said.

The embassy said that Clio award has been handed over since 1997 to encourage archeological researches abroad. The jury includes specialists and experts.

There are four nominations, including Special Jury Prize, which is handed over to archeologist for contribution to development of archeology.

The embassy stated that the prize is another evidence for high level of archeological cooperation between France and Uzbekistan and rich cultural heritage of Uzbekistan.
