Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan futsal team will play two friendly matches against the Brazil national team ahead of the World Cup.

The first match will take place on 6 September at the Yunusabad Sports Complex, while the second will be held on 8 September at the Humo Arena.

In June 2023, at a meeting of the International Football Federation (FIFA) Council in Zurich, it was decided to grant Uzbekistan the right to host the Futsal World Cup in 2024. This will be the first event of such magnitude under FIFA’s auspices in Uzbekistan and Central Asia.

The Uzbekistan team will compete in Group A alongside the Netherlands, Paraguay, and Costa Rica.

The World Cup will be held from 14 September to 6 October in Tashkent, Andijan, and Bukhara.
