Uzbekistan, Finland discuss issues of developing ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Delegations of Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Finland held next round of political consultations in Helsinki on 22 November 2012.

During consultations, the sides considered current state and perspectives of Uzbek-Finnish dialogue, as well as international and regional issues of mutual interest.

It was underlined that bilateral relations have significant potential for further development of multilateral cooperation.

As perspective directions, the sides are considering such spheres as inter-parliamentary relations, trade-economic and investment interaction. Uzbekistan is interested in joint projects with Finnish businesses for organization of production of modern systems for telecommunications, chips, accessories for mobile communication systems, as well as timber processing industry, where Finland holds leading positions.

In this context, it was said that there are good opportunities for cooperation at Navoi free industrial and economic zone and Angren special industrial zone, where favourable tax and customs preferences are provided to investors.

The sides exchanged opinion on cooperation in culture, science, education and healthcare.
