Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan has shown interest in Dagestan sheep wool. This was stated by the Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Dagestan, Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, in an interview with Dagestan TV.
Abdulmuslimov held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov in the end of May. The prospects for processing Dagestan sheep wool at textile enterprises in Uzbekistan were discussed.
According to the chairman, the Uzbek side recognized the achievements of Dagestan in sheep breeding and the production of merino wool, which is in high demand on the international market.
“In light of the active development of light industry in Uzbekistan, Prime Minister Aripov instructed to consider joint initiatives with the Government of Dagestan in the field of wool processing and the production of woolen fabrics,” the head of the Dagestan cabinet emphasized.
