Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan exported 64.8 thousand tons of apricots valued at US$62.3 million to 14 countries during January-August 2024, according to the Statistics Agency.
This represents an increase of US$21.6 million and 15 thousand tons compared to the same period last year.
The growth in apricot exports is primarily attributed to the quality and price competitiveness of Uzbek apricots. Additionally, a successful marketing strategy has been implemented to promote apricots in international markets.
During the first 8 months of 2024, Uzbekistan exported the largest volumes of apricots to the following countries:
- Russia – 51.5 thousand tons
- Kazakhstan – 8.1 thousand tons
- Kyrgyzstan – 2.7 thousand tons
- Azerbaijan – 1.5 thousand tons
- Belarus – 721 tons
