Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Law "On Amendments and Additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan"  was signed by the President of Uzbekistan.

The law expanded the possibilities of using the State Flag. Accordingly, it is allowed:

the use of the flag and symbols representing the image of the flag in public places, buildings, places of residence or work, in the interior of vehicles;

the use of the flag at sports competitions, mass, solemn and cultural events, family holidays, celebrations of anniversaries, funeral events of public and state figures, military personnel;

the use of symbols representing the image of the flag in the preparation of sportswear for international sports competitions and championships of Uzbekistan.

The law also clearly defines cases of disrespect for the flag, in particular:

use the flag and symbols representing its image in a torn, dirty, holey, faded or otherwise inappropriate form;

use as a cover for something;

lay or apply the image of the flag on tables, armchairs, chairs and use it as a cover, as well as lay or apply its image in other places where they sit or under their feet;

use as clothing, a handkerchief or bed linen, as well as for storing and carrying things;

print designations representing the image of the flag, or otherwise apply its image on shoes, a handkerchief, bed linen, underwear, towels, boxes (packages), items that are intended for single use and disposal;

use the flag and designations representing its image in violation of the rules of ethics and rules of conduct in society.

Responsibility for the use of the State Flag and designations representing its image, in accordance with the established requirements, rests with individuals and legal entities, including state bodies using the flag.

This Law shall enter into force on the day of its official publication.
