Uzbekistan expands external internet channel up to 11.2 Gbps

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Total speed of connection to external internet channels in Uzbekistan reached 11.2 Gbps, the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Communication, Informatization and Telecommunication Technologies said.

The growth made up 1.1 times compared to the beginning of 2014, when total speed of connection to external internet channels was 10.2 Gbps.

The speed of external Internet connection was 7.78 Gbps at the same period of 2013. The growth was 1.44 times compared to the same period of 2013.

Total number of ports installed to provide fixed broadband access to the Internet (including FTTx technologies and xDSL), reached 583,900 (at the beginning of the year was 575,000).
