Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree establishing the international Muhammad Rizo Ogahi Prize in the field of literary translation.

According to the document, the international Muhammad Rizo Ogahi Prize has been created in Uzbekistan to recognize achievements in the field of literary translation.

Competitions for this international prize will be held biennially, starting in 2025.

Winners will be selected in the following categories:

• Best translation of prose works of Uzbek literature into foreign languages.
• Best translation of poetic works of Uzbek literature into foreign languages.
• Best translation of Uzbek children's literature into foreign languages.
• Best translation of prose works from foreign languages into Uzbek.
• Best translation of poetic works from foreign languages into Uzbek.
• Best translation of children's literature from foreign languages into Uzbek.

Each winner of the international prize will be awarded a special diploma, a badge of honor, and a one-time cash prize equivalent to 300 times the base estimated value (102 million soums).
