Uzbekistan establishes cooperation in the textile sector with Oman

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Uztekstilprom Association held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultan of Oman to Uzbekistan Al Kathairi Ahmed Said Omer.

The meeting is of particular importance for establishing cooperation in the textile sector of both countries, which was noted by both sides.

It is believed that in the Sultanate, textiles are one of the traditional crafts that are practiced, dating back to the old days of Omani society. At the same time, Oman’s investment in the textile sector comes against the backdrop of high global demand for cotton yarn.

During this meeting, the Uzbek side noted that the Sultanate of Oman, being a country with port hubs, seems to be a good location for the subsequent redirection of goods. In this regard, an agreement was reached on organizing the implementation of joint investment projects in the territories of the FEZ of Oman in order to further re-export manufactured textile products to the markets of the Persian Gulf and North Africa.

An agreement was also reached on organizing a trade business mission with the participation of the textile business circles of both countries, through the organization of an introductory textile fair, a business forum and negotiations in a B2B format on the territory of the Sultanate of Oman.
