Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The government and the Central Bank of Uzbekistan do not plan to denominate the currency. This was reported by the press service of the regulator.
The Central Bank noted that information about the implementation of the denomination of the monetary unit has spread in social networks. The reports said that the old banknotes would be exchanged for a new one at a ratio of 1:10,000. It was noted that the old and new banknotes would be in circulation until 2025.
“This information is unfounded, at present, the Government and the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan do not plan denominate the monetaray unit,” the Central Bank of Uzbekistan notes.
