Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis recently considered a bill in the first reading, aimed at strengthening the system of digital labeling of goods and protecting the population from counterfeit products.
The bill proposes significant reductions in the tax burden for entrepreneurs. Specifically, businesses will be able to lower costs for acquiring labeling equipment and reduce taxes on profits, turnover, and income for individual entrepreneurs. Additionally, the retail sale of beer products will be included in the list of activities requiring mandatory notification to tax authorities.
Deputies highlighted that the proposed changes to the tax legislation would create favorable conditions for legal businesses and contribute to the fight against the shadow production of tobacco and beer products. It is expected that these measures will increase the transparency of trade and help protect consumers from counterfeit products.
According to the parliamentarians, the adoption of the bill will not only improve the digital labeling system but also provide additional stability to the State Budget.
The bill was supported and adopted by the deputies in the first reading.
