Uzbekistan discusses issues of developing financial education
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Central Bank of Uzbekistan, Women’s Committee, Agency for Development of Financial Sector of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Fund of Saving Banks of International Cooperation of Germany organized an Uzbek-German international conference “Improving financial education as main factor for development of family entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan” in Tashkent.

Representatives of Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Women’s Committee, district administrations of Tashkent city, commercial banks, and German experts participated at the event.

Successful business depends both from business skills and level of financial-economic knowledge of entrepreneurs.

Development of financial education will allow improve economic knowledge in such areas as planning, saving, borrowing and effective use of financial services. This will allow population to protect their income and help to raise it.

Foreign guests praised attention of the government to development of small and private businesses. The guests underlined that importance of the law “On family entrepreneurship”, which was adopted recently. They expressed assurance that active attraction of family members to business activities will improve life standards and ensure stable economic growth in the country.

German experts shared their experience in their organizations, including directed at development of family entrepreneurship. Participants discussed experience of insurance company, OSA, which provides insurance services for families and entrepreneurship.

The conference participants discussed measures adopted in Uzbekistan to raise financial awareness of population and perspectives of further cooperation with the German institutes on implementation of joint projects, directed at supporting small and private businesses.

Participants had chance to familiarize with experience of Germany in developing family businesses and exchanged opinion on other issues.

Within the conference, Central Bank of Uzbekistan, Women’s Committee, Agency for Development of Financial Sector of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Fund of Saving Banks of International Cooperation of Germany signed an agreement on organization of 10-month training courses for banking specialists.

The project is directed at improving quality of client services and improving financial knowledge of population, which will help to improve national banking system and further increase savings of population at the credit organizations.
