Uzbekistan discusses global tourism trends at conference in Delhi

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Umid Shadiyev, Chairman of the Committee for Tourism of Uzbekistan, represented the country at a ministerial conference for tourism officials held during the largest international tourism fair in South Asia, "SATTE-2025" (South Asia’s Travel & Tourism Exchange) in Delhi.

The event was attended by senior representatives from the tourism industry of more than 50 countries, including India, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Laos, Cambodia, Singapore, Oman, and Turkey.

The main theme of the conference was strengthening international cooperation in tourism, developing new tourist packages, and creating cross-border routes. Special attention was given to sustainable tourism and ecotourism, reflecting global trends towards responsible travel and the preservation of natural heritage.

Umid Shadiyev presented Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, highlighting the country’s unique landmarks, such as ancient cities, architectural monuments, and key tourist destinations. He also provided detailed information on the measures the government is taking to develop the tourism sector, including creating favorable conditions for foreign tourists and implementing investment projects in this field.

Conference participants highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s potential as a promising travel destination, noting its rich history, cultural heritage, and the diversity of its tourism offerings.
