Representatives of ministers, departments, public organizations and other bodies participated at the work of the meeting.

Given the growing human impact on the environment, it is necessary to develop and improve the legal regulation of the interaction between society and nature. One way of such regulation is to create areas with a special regime of environmental use, including ecologic disaster areas and emergency ecologic zones.

Current legislation does not determine detailed framework for the mechanism of economic activities and management of emergency ecologic zones. The issues on rehabilitation of such zones, social guarantees to victims, regime of visits, and other issues are not disclosed. Legislation framework does not regulate issues on attracting work forces to such areas, their economic development, etc.

The draft law will regulate relations in emergency ecologic situation and ecologic disaster zones, ensuring rights and interests of individuals, who are in such zones.

The document will be part of complex measures on ensuring localization, rehabilitation and recovery of ecologic situation in ecologic disaster zones, such as Aral Basin, ecologic unfavourable territories in Uzbekistan.

The meeting participants developed recommendations and proposals on further improvement of the legislation.
