Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan denied information about the assembly of Iranian drones in the country.

A video interview of Ukrainian journalist and blogger Dmitry Gordon with Israeli businessman Leonid Nevzlin was circulated on the Internet, in which false information was voiced about the assembly of Iranian drones on the territory of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The agency stated that Uzbekistan does not cooperate with Iran in the military-technical sphere and does not assemble Iranian military equipment on its territory.

“At the same time, no official appeals have been received from the Ukrainian side or from other foreign partners on the so-called “assembly of Iranian drones,” the Foreign Ministry notes.

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan appealed to the official authorities of Ukraine with a request to take appropriate measures to prevent the Ukrainian media from spreading such unfounded accusations and other unreliable information about Uzbekistan that could damage bilateral relations.

The State Committee of Uzbekistan for the Defense Industry also denied the information that Iranian combat unmanned aerial vehicles used in the armed conflict in Ukraine are being assembled at the factories of Uzbekistan.

The Committee stated that Uzbekistan has not produced and does not produce weapons and military equipment jointly with the Iranian side.

The committee also stressed that such unverified reports spread by media representatives misinform the public and could harm Uzbekistan's friendly relations with foreign countries.
