Uzbekistan Deepens Cooperation in Science and Technology within the SCO Framework
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 12 June, the Ninth Meeting of Heads of Ministries and Agencies of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states responsible for science and technology was held in Chengdu, China.
The delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan was led by Otabek Makhkamov, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister proposed an initiative to jointly implement practical projects in the field of science and technology within the SCO framework.
Throughout the day, representatives of the Uzbek delegation also held bilateral meetings with counterparts from Belarus, Kazakhstan, and other countries.
In addition, the program included a meeting with the president of Xi’an Petroleum University, which resulted in the signing of a cooperation agreement aimed at training Uzbek citizens in advanced engineering fields in China.
