Uzbekistan coordinates gas supplies with neighboring countries

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan’s national holding company Uzbekneftegaz held a series of talks on natural gas supplies in 2009, the company said.

The Uzbek company said it discussed issues of formation of natural gas price with Russia’s Gazprom.

The sides discussed basic conditions of purchasing and selling Uzbek gas, contractual amount of gas to be supplied in 2009 and the formula for calculating quarterly payment for gas.

Main principles of gas supply to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan were developed.

According to Uztransgaz, gas transporation firm of Uzbekneftegaz, said the first quarter of 2009 Uzbek gas supplies to Gazprom will be US$301 per 1,000 cubic meters.

Uzbekneftegaz also agreed with Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan the price of gas supplies. Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan will buy Uzbek gas at the price of US$240.
