Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbektelecom held a presentation on current state and perspectives of development of telecommunication networks in 2019-2020.
Last year, it was announced that Internet speed was increased by 10 times in 2018 to 1200 Gbps, which is enough to cover needs of providers of operators of Uzbekistan.
Tariffs for external channel for operators and providers, were decreased from 85,000 to 70,000 soums per 1 Mbps (-17%). From 1 January 2020, the tariffs will be cut by 20% to 56,000 soums per 1 Mbps.
This resulted in decrease of tariffs for internet services in Uzbekistan in average by 4 times, while speed rose by twice across Uzbekistan.
Uzbektelecom also laid 3,500 km of optic fiber lines to schools, kindergartens and healthcare objects in 2019.
In 2020, the company plans to modernize over 3,000 base station of 3G/4G and launch over 700 base stations of 3G/4G. It is planned to expand broadband internet access to over 1 million ports on FTTx/GPON technology.
