Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Thailand have successfully concluded negotiations concerning Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Thailand’s Ambassador to the WTO and WIPO, Pimchanok Pitfield, announced on LinkedIn that she had signed the Protocol of Agreement on Uzbekistan’s WTO accession on behalf of her country.
“We look forward to Uzbekistan’s swift entry into the multilateral trading system. We are confident that WTO membership will create new opportunities for trade growth and investment attraction in the republic,” she emphasized.
The ambassador also highlighted that the agreement reflects the mutual commitment of both countries not only to strengthen trade ties but also to promote initiatives focused on people-to-people connectivity.
Uzbekistan aims to complete its WTO accession process by the 14th Ministerial Conference, scheduled for 2026 in Cameroon.
To date, Thailand has become the 25th country with which Uzbekistan has successfully concluded negotiations on this matter.
