Uzbekistan, China to sign bilateral documents
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21-24 June 2016, President of China Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to Uzbekistan and participate in the 16th session of the Council of the heads of the states of the SCO, which will be held in Tashkent, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Li Huilai said.

Li Huilai said that the visit of the Chinese leader to Uzbekistan will have significant importance for lifting relations of China with Uzbekistan and other states of Central Asia to new level, Xinhua agency reported.

The visit will assist to highly efficient, practical and healthy development of the SCO and better adaptation of member states of the SCO to combat challenges and threats, as well as preserve economic growth, he said.

Uzbekistan is a strategic partner of China and its important partner for cooperation in fighting with three evils and joint construction of economic belt of the Silk Road, he said.

Li Huilai said that currently bilateral relations entered the best period of development in its history, and they are characterized by high political understanding, high fruitful mutually beneficial cooperation and the effectiveness of closer cooperation in the international arena.

During the meeting, Uzbek and Chinese leaders will exchange opinion on developing bilateral relations, joint construction of Economic Belt of the Silk Road, as well as international and regional issues. They will determine several important projects of cooperation and sign a joint statement of Uzbekistan and China.

The Chinese diplomat said that two states will also ink large number of agreements on cooperation in diplomacy, trade, economy, intellectual property and finance.

Li Huilai expressed his assurance that Xi Jinping’s visit to Uzbekistan will be fully successful and lift relations to new level, as well as deepen political interaction and allow to expand cooperation in building Economic Belt of Silk Road.

Xi Jinping will also participate in the SCO summit in Tashkent and participate in negotiations in face-to-face and expanded formats.
