Uzbekistan, China, Kyrgyzstan seeking investment to railroad construction

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan, China and Kyrgyzstan are holding consultations to search potential investors to finance China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad, Kyrgyz Economic Development and Trade Minister Akylbek Japarov said on Thursday, 10 September, at the SCO foreign trade and foreign activity ministers’ summit in Bishkek.

He said that feasibility study of the construction of railroad China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan is completed and the sides are ending political consultations.

Nasriddin Najimov, First Deputy Minister of Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan, said the project could be implemented within the SCO and use potential of the member states.

He added that the SCO believes that transport infrastructure is one of its priorities and it can invest in construction of the railroad.
