Uzbekistan can supply labour to Oman

Uzbekistan could in future be a new source of labour for Oman. The possibility of the East European country supplying manpower to the Sultanate was discussed at length during official discussions in Muscat on Sunday between Manpower Minister Shaikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al Bakri and visiting Uzbek Minister of Foreign Relations, Investments and Trade Elyor Ganiev, Omani media reported.
The talks also covered cooperation in vocational training and technical education.
Also on Sunday, Ganiev conferred with National Economy Minister Ahmed bin Abdulnabi Macki during which the two countries underlined the importance of creating the necessary legal framework to expand trade ties.
Macki said the Sultanate was keen to set up joint ventures with Uzbekistan, and stressed the importance of both countries signing agreements to avoid double taxation.
