Uzbekistan calls for open dialogue at the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 6 April 2025, the first plenary session of the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) was held under the theme "Parliamentary Movement for Social Development and Justice."
The session was officially opened by IPU President, Tullia Exson. In her speech, she emphasized the crucial role of parliaments in restoring social balance, ensuring global stability and justice, and called for more active participation by legislative bodies in addressing contemporary social challenges.
During the session, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbaeva, was invited to the podium as the President of the Assembly. In her address to the international community, she elaborated on the social reforms taking place in Uzbekistan, efforts to improve the social protection system, and the expansion of international cooperation in this area. Narbaeva called for an open dialogue and wished success to all participants in the forum.
It was noted that the exchange of views during the Assembly helps generate practical recommendations and strengthens inter-parliamentary cooperation, based on the final documents of the event.
At the conclusion of the plenary session, the President of the Assembly expressed gratitude to all delegations for their meaningful and constructive dialogue.
