The Uzbek side briefed the guest on historic and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, reforms and development of tourism sector, works conducted to improve infrastructure in the country, including transport infrastructure.
The Bulgarian envoy received information on state programmes on tourism development in Khorezm region, Tashkent region, Kashkadarya region and Surkhandarya region.
In his turn, Boyko Kotsev said that development of tourism is important direction in international relations of Bulgaria and noted that Uzbekistan has great potential for development of tourism, including mountain tourism. He said that there are also opportunities to develop children tourism, historic and rehabilitation tourism.
The sides considered issues of training specialists, attracting technical assistance and foreign investments into tourism sector. The Bulgarian side expressed interest in cooperation in this area.
Boyko Kotsev underlined importance of tourism events, organized in two countries. Ambassador said that he will do his best to attract large tourism companies to Tashkent International Tourism Fair-2013, which will be held in October, and participation of Uzbek companies in tourism events in Bulgaria.
