The Brazilian delegation composed of about 30 companies and it is headed by executive secretary of the Ministry of Development, Industry and External Trade Ivan Ramalho.

The delegation includes representatives of companies, working in food, chemical products, automobile, furniture, aviation, farm machinery, beverages, sporting, leather and footwear.

Ivan Ramalho said at the forum said the Brazil wants to boost cooperation with Uzbekistan and the mission arrived in Uzbekistan for this purpose. He added that the Brazilian companies intend to promote their products in the Central Asian country’s market and purchase goods and services from Uzbekistan. Ramalho said Brazil is searching new partners in Asia.

Trade turnover between two countries made up US$121.2 million in 2008, while the figure made up US$64.3 million in the first six months of 2009.

It was noted that there is opportunities to expand trade-economic cooperation between two states and underlined that currently there is no joint ventures in Uzbekistan with the Brazilian investments.

During the business forum, the businesses of two states got acquainted with business and investment climate, agriculture, light industry, aviation and other industries in Uzbekistan and Brazil.

After the forum, the Uzbek and Brazilian businesses considered establishment of partnership relations at the cooperation exchange.
