On 28 November 2012, Permanent mission of Uzbekistan at the United Nations in New York signed a joint communiqué on establishing diplomatic relations between Republic of Uzbekistan and Plurinational State of Bolivia.

The press service of the Uzbek ministry said that the document came into force from the date of document signing.

Bolivia is a landlocked country in central South America. It is bordered by Brazil to the north and east, Paraguay and Argentina to the south, Chile to the southwest, and Peru to the west.
