Belta reported that President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has authorized Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Uzbekistan Igor Sokolov to conduct negotiations on the draft intergovernmental investment promotion and protection agreement between Belarus and Uzbekistan.

Belarusian envoy was also entrusted to sign the agreement if the sides achieve agreement over the document. The Belarus President signed a corresponding decree on 29 March.
