Uzbekistan becomes world’s top gold seller in February
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In February 2025, Uzbekistan became the world’s leading gold seller, according to the World Gold Council.
The Central Bank of Uzbekistan sold 12 tons of gold, taking the top spot among gold-exporting countries. Kazakhstan ranked second with 8 tons.
Poland emerged as the largest buyer, purchasing 29 tons of gold. Following Poland, the next largest buyers were China (5 tons), Turkey and Jordan (3 tons each), as well as Qatar and the Czech Republic, both of which bought 2 tons.
It is worth noting that in the first two months of 2025, Uzbekistan exported gold worth US$1.73 billion, as reported by the National Statistics Committee.
