Uzbekistan, Bangladesh sign a memorandum of cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Uzcharmsanoat association held a meeting with investors, large entrepreneurs, as well as a business development, marketing and networking specialist from Bangladesh. The main topic on the agenda of the dialogue is the establishment of mutually beneficial cooperation ties.

As investors noted, today Uzbekistan demonstrates to the world dynamic development, openness of foreign policy, liberalization of the economy and currency, readiness for new major projects. These factors serve as a good bridge for establishing mutually beneficial trade and investment cooperation, attracting businessmen from all continents to the country.

At the meeting, the guests were provided with detailed information on state support for the industry, tax and customs incentives for business development. Particular attention was paid to transport and logistics opportunities and sales markets. Bangladesh sees in Uzbekistan a portal to enter the markets of the CIS countries, as well as Europe. For Uzbekistan, the establishment of cooperation with Bangladesh opens up new export contacts with the countries of Asia and Oceania, allowing to expand the volume of foreign supplies.

As the guests noted, today all outsourced shoe products of Bangladesh are exported in full, while the country itself satisfies domestic demand through imports. More than 170 million people in the country are forced to buy shoes that are imported from other countries. The industrial sector is in the same situation, which is forced to import raw materials and leather in large volumes for the needs of enterprises. The establishment of mutually beneficial trade relations will open up a huge market for finished and semi-finished products for Uzbekistan.

Cooperation also involves strengthening the personnel potential of Uzbekistan. Bangladeshi companies work mainly with global brands, introduce international requirements and quality standards into production. In this regard, they can send qualified technologists, engineers and designers to Uzbekistan to exchange experience.

The guests intend to visit a number of regions of our country to get acquainted directly on the spot with the production processes at Uzbek enterprises and the quality of products.

The parties also agreed to organize mutual business missions presented by the heads of industrial enterprises of the two countries, including business tours to enterprises and the conclusion of investment and export agreements.

As a result of the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed, which consolidates the multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and Bangladesh in the leather and footwear industry.
