Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of CMS COP14, a Champion Night event was held in Samarkand on 12 February, honoring the new CMS Champions, who were awarded for their outstanding efforts and commitment to the global fight for the conservation of migratory species.

During the evening, Uzbekistan was awarded an honorary prize “For contribution to ensuring environmental connectivity for the period 2024-2026.” CMS Executive Secretary Amy Frenkel presented the certificate of nomination of Uzbekistan to the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Aziz Abdukhakimov.

The event took place as part of the Migratory Species Champion program, which aims to promote initiatives developed by CMS and encourage sustainable support for them.
