Finance 17/07/2018 Uzbekistan attracts international consultants for development of key industries

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The State Committee of Uzbekistan on investments attracted authoritative international experts to assist to develop and implement long-term programs for reforming key sectors of the economy of Uzbekistan.

This was stated in the resolution of the Government of Uzbekistan “On measures to attract authoritative international experts in the development and implementation of long-term programs for reforming key sectors of the economy.”

The document noted that Uzbekenergo and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will cooperate on reforming the electric power industry and developing renewable energy.

The World Bank Group and the Asian Development Bank will advise Uzbekistan in development and attraction of investments to the power industry.

The World Bank will also provide consulting services in the field of comprehensive reform of aviation transport and attracting investments to this sector.

The International Finance Corporation diagnoses the conditions for attracting foreign direct investment and evaluating the efficiency of resource use in the sphere of deep processing of natural gas.

The American company McKinsey & Company will help Uzbekistan develop the chemical industry and attract foreign investment.

Boston Consulting Group (USA) will help Uzbekistan develop a comprehensive strategy for the development of the oil and gas industry, as well as identify and work out promising investment projects. The company will also support the attraction of foreign investors in profitable projects in the areas of exploration, development, production and processing of hydrocarbon raw materials.

The government instructed agencies and organizations to sign agreements and contracts with all these international financial institutions and consulting companies by 1 August 2018.

Also, they must submit a detailed program of further cooperation with international consultants by 10 August.
