Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The First Open Central Asia Fencing Confederation Championship Junior/Cadets was held at the Republican Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve.

The championship, organized jointly with the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, National Olympic Committee, National News Agency, National Television and Radio Company and Uzbekistan Fencing Federation was attended by more than 150 athletes from Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

Zaynab Dayibekova from Uzbekistan defeated all her opponents in swords among cadets and juniors and won two gold medals.

Following the results on swords, sabers and rapiers among juniors, Sanjarbek Sobirov, Ahmadillo Solikhojiyev, Pazilbek Genjeboyev and Jasmina Suvonova reached the highest steps of the podium, while, Sherzod Mamutov, Ilyos Molina, Shakhzoda Egamberdiyeva, Lolita Ziyokhujayeva and Marjona Usmanova became gold medalists among cadets.

Uzbekistan national team won 11 gold, 9 silver and 16 bronze medals in the championship and took the first place in team events.

The national team of Turkmenistan became the second and the national team of Kazakhstan – the third in team events.
