Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The national stand of Uzbekistan was presented at the World Travel Market 2019 held in London, the Dunyo news agency reported.

WTM is one of the largest and most popular international exhibitions in the field of tourism, which demonstrates almost the entire range of services in this field. As Europe’s second largest tourism fair (after Berlin), WTM has been held annually since 1980. This year she has gathered over 50 thousand professionals from 182 countries of the world. The number of its visitors exceeded 100 thousand people, and 2800 journalists covering its work.

Uzbekistan regularly takes part in this event, starting in 2009. This time, our country was presented at WTM by a delegation consisting of representatives of the State Committee for Tourism Development, Uzbekistan Airways and travel agencies People Travel, Orient Voyages, Hyatt Regency Tashkent, Compass Tours, Ulysse Tour ”and others. A special video shown during the Uzbek exposition and dedicated to historical cities, cultural heritage and modern development of Uzbekistan has become a bright magnet that attracts visitors to the exhibition.

The national stand of our country was located in the center of the Asian Pavilion. Promotional brochures and booklets on tourism opportunities in Uzbekistan were in great demand.

Participation in the event allowed domestic representatives to receive detailed information on trends and prospects for the development of tourism, to get acquainted with new areas, methods of effective management and ensuring a high level of competitiveness of this business.

As a result of participation in WTM, contacts were established, negotiations were held, and contracts were concluded with British and other foreign partners.

The delegation of Uzbekistan held fruitful negotiations with representatives of British travel associations, including the Association of Group Operators, Association of National Tourist Offices & Representatives, European Travel Agents & Tour Operators Association, Association of British travel agents, Association of independent tour operators ”, tour operators“ Travel the Unknown ”,“ The Travel Experts ”(religious tourism), Silk Road Adventures, the British Institute for Travel and Tourism, as well as the magazine“ Wanderlust Magazine ”.

Along with this, the delegation of Uzbekistan also participated in the UNWTO Ministerial Summit on “Modern Technologies for the Development of Tourism in the Rural Area”. The summit was also attended by over 50 ministers of tourism and heads of administrations of tourist councils of the world. The participants exchanged views on current issues in the field of global tourism, on trends and prospects for the further development of the industry.

During the exhibition, Tara Pandeya, an American specialist in Uzbek dance, performed Uzbek national dances, captivating the audience with her talent. Thanks to his love of Uzbek dances, T. Pandeya promotes and demonstrates their peculiarity around the world, including Great Britain.

In general, the visit of the delegation of the State Committee for Tourism Development and domestic tour operators allowed us to form a good basis for further promotion of Uzbekistan’s interests in tourism development and a serious increase in the flow of British and European tourists to our country.
