Uzbekistan approves measures to develop tourism in Andijan region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan approved programme of targeted measures on developing of tourism and increasing export potential of tourism services in Andijan region for 2011-2012, the press service of Uzbektourism national company said.

Taking into account importance of information technologies in developing tourism in the region, the programme envisages organization of cooperation of hotels with foreign hotels, introduction of online hotel booking services through Internet.

Besides, the programme pays attention to development of hotel infrastructure as it is integral part of tourism. It is planned to commission modern hotel Afrosiab with the capacity of 40 places, accomplishment of hotels Elita and Vella Elegant, stimulate activity of hotels activities through competitions.

In order to familiarize tourists with handicraft art and work of masters of Andijan region, it is planned to reconstruct handicrafts’ street, construct modern workshops in national style for creation of favourable conditions for work of craftspeople and sale of their goods.

Popular historic-architecture objects Jami, Ahmadbek Hojim Ponsod mosque, House of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, Regional Museum will be reconstructed and will get attractive look.

At the same time, the programme envisages creation of new tourism routes, which will allow tourists to familiarize with tourism potential of the region. In particular, tourists can be interested in curative springs in such places as Hotin Qul, Guza Ota, Okmozor Ota, Mirpustin Ota.

Issue of advertisement-information products, participation of tour operators in international and national tourism fairs will help to popularization of unique tourism potential opportunities of Andijan region.

Overall, the budget of the programme makes up 10.9 billion soums.
