Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Oybek Shakhavdinov became the first ambassador of Uzbekistan to Hungary with residence in Budapest.

On 7 March, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan Oybek Shakhavdinov arrived in the capital of Hungary.

Before his appointment to Budapest, Oybek Shakhavdinov served as head of the Department for Cooperation with European Countries and European Union Institutions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He is a graduate of the University of Birmingham in the UK, as well as the Tashkent State University of Law, where he received a master’s degree. Oybek Shakhavdinov also took translator training courses at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO).

He began his career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2004 at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Tashkent, then worked as an assistant in the Office for Cooperation with European Countries, went through all levels of the diplomatic service, becoming the head of the department, and also worked at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Brussels.
