The website said nine houbaras have been released into nature in Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan on 16 September 2012 by Emirate Center for Conservation of Houbara, the website reported.
The website said that the territory of release and food base have been studied by the specialists of the Center.
The center’s specialists selected healthy birds for release. Special sensors were installed to birds to monitor their location, routes of migration, etc.
Based on the results of monitoring, the Center specialists will adopt decision on release of more houbaras to Karshi steppe. The report said that the Center is studying other territories of Uzbekistan, where houbaras could be released.
The Emirate Center is working hard on reproduction of the bird. Currently, it has over 2,000 female hourbaras.
