Uzbekistan and Vietnam discuss introduction of a visa-free regime
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of strengthening Uzbek-Vietnamese cooperation, a business roundtable was held with the participation of business representatives from both countries. The event, supported by government structures, marked an important step in the development of bilateral relations.
The official part of the event was opened by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev and Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Chan Thanh Man, who is in Uzbekistan on an official visit.
In his speech, the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Tourism, Jamshid Abdusalomov, emphasized the key role of tourism in the economic and cultural interaction between the two countries. Special attention was given to simplifying visa procedures and joint initiatives to promote the tourism potential, including participation in international exhibitions.
As part of the business program, B2B negotiations took place, during which Jamshid Abdusalomov discussed prospects for cooperation with the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Vietnam, Phan Tam, as well as the leadership of the "Sovico Group" and "Vietnam Airlines Corporation." The discussions included experience exchange and the implementation of joint projects.
It should be noted that on April 7, during a meeting between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Vietnamese delegation headed by Chan Thanh Man, the expansion of cultural and tourism exchanges was discussed, including the possibility of introducing a visa-free regime between the two countries.
These initiatives are aimed at strengthening economic ties, increasing tourist flows, and deepening humanitarian partnership between Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
