Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 23 to 29 July 2025, a delegation from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade visited the United States to expand export opportunities and strengthen trade and economic ties.
In New York, under the unified brand Made in Uzbekistan, 25 domestic textile companies showcased their products at international fairs Texworld NYC, Apparel Sourcing USA, and Home Textiles Sourcing Expo. The delegation held talks with leading corporations and associations, including Levi Strauss & Co., PVH Corp., American Eagle Outfitters, Macy’s, Bunzl plc, Tapestry Inc., as well as AAFA and USFIA, focusing on Uzbek producers’ entry into the U.S. market through sourcing mechanisms.
Discussions with the U.S. Department of Commerce emphasized mutual interest in increasing trade turnover, reducing barriers, and expanding investment cooperation. Priority sectors included textiles, construction materials, electrical goods, and agricultural products. Special attention was given to opportunities for Uzbek companies to enter major marketplaces such as Amazon and Walmart, as well as retail chains like Whole Foods Market, Bloomingdale’s, and The Home Depot.
Agreements were reached with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) to conduct joint seminars and webinars for Uzbek firms on certification and packaging requirements for the U.S. market.
Separately, the delegation met with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Cotton USA to discuss American cotton supplies under the GSM-102 program and the potential launch of a Made from U.S. Cotton initiative to support exports to global markets.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to consistently enhancing Uzbekistan’s export potential and promoting national products worldwide.
