Uzbekistan and UNDP strengthen cooperation in women’s entrepreneurship development
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 28 February 2025, a meeting took place between Gulnora Rakhimova, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, and Akiko Fuji, UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan.
During the discussions, the sides reviewed positive changes occurring in the country, the current status of joint projects, and future directions of cooperation.
Special attention was given to issues related to entrepreneurship development, particularly supporting women’s business, creating new opportunities for them, and improving the qualifications of women entrepreneurs in public procurement.
As part of the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed between UNDP, the women’s entrepreneurship support company Hamroh, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
The project aims to strengthen financial and digital literacy among women entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan, improve access to financing and markets for women-led small and medium-sized enterprises, and create a more inclusive policy environment for their activities.
Following the negotiations, both parties agreed to further develop and strengthen mutual cooperation.
