Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, held a meeting with the Assistant Secretary-General of the UN and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS, Ivana Živković.

During the talks, the parties discussed ways to expand cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with a particular focus on sustainable development in Karakalpakstan and the Aral Sea region.

The discussions also covered prospects for collaboration in key areas such as youth support, healthcare, culture, and sustainable tourism. These areas are viewed as the foundation for long-term positive changes in the lives of the local population.

“We aim to engage the public, especially the younger generation, in the development process, relying on their energy, creativity, and desire for change,” noted Mirziyoyeva on her Telegram channel.

She also emphasized that the approaches of Uzbekistan and UNDP align closely: “I am confident that together, we can turn ideas into real projects that will bring tangible benefits to people on the ground.”
