Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A video conference was held between Umid Shadiyev, Chairman of the Committee for Tourism of Uzbekistan, and representatives from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye.
The meeting also included the Rector of Cappadocia University, which specializes in advanced tourism research in Türkiye.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed in detail the progress of various tourism agreements reached with Türkiye;s Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmt Nuri Ersoy, who visited Uzbekistan on 28-29 August. The discussions also covered the mechanisms for implementing these agreements and short-term plans.
The focus was on measures to ensure the effective and timely completion of the tasks set by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who received Minister Ersoy to integrate leading Turkish practices into the development of Uzbekistan;s tourism sector.
Specifically, agreements were made to actively involve Turkish entrepreneurs and investors in projects related to the development and privatization of tourism infrastructure in Uzbekistan, to prepare and enhance the qualifications of tourism personnel based on Turkish experience, to collaborate on creating a master plan for prospective tourist sites with the assistance of Cappadocia University, and to organize visits to Türkiye for representatives of ministries and departments related to tourism (transport, investment, marketing, state asset management, and others) to study the country;s experience.
Additionally, specific points of the "Roadmap," developed and approved following Minister Ersoy’s visit, were discussed separately.
