Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 November, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Mahkamov met with the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye Abdulkadir Uraloglu.

The meeting discussed the current state of cooperation between countries in the field of transport and logistics, as well as prospects for bringing it to a new stage.

The parties noted that simplification of the process of cargo transportation by road, the introduction of digital technologies in the industry, including the launch of the E-Permit exchange program for digital permits in 2022, created convenience for national carriers.

It was noted that today not only countries of the near and far abroad are showing great interest in this program. According to the analysis, until September of this year, 710.9 thousand tons of various cargo were transported by road between the two countries. This is 32.8% higher than the previous period.

As a result of bilateral cooperation on the development of another area in the field of transport - civil aviation - the number of mutual air transportations increased to 55 flights per week.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties agreed to create transport and logistics centers and joint ventures in the field of cargo transportation, introduce modern digital information technologies in railway and public transport, improve the qualifications of transport workers, etc.

The parties also agreed to further strengthen relations in the implementation of infrastructure projects in the field of road construction and joint projects on the basis of PPP in the field of aviation.
