Uzbekistan and Türkiye discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in the social sphere
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva met with Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, Minister of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Türkiye.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding Uzbekistan–Türkiye cooperation in the social sector. Particular emphasis was placed on social protection, the role of the family institution, and the safeguarding of women’s and children’s rights.
The discussions also addressed the exchange of expertise in the professional development of social service workers, as well as the provision of quality social services at the local level. Legislative improvements in the field of social protection were highlighted as a key topic.
Given the existing interregional ties between Uzbekistan and Türkiye, the parties explored opportunities for experience-sharing between territorial units responsible for family, women, and social services.
In addition, the two sides agreed to organize business forums for women entrepreneurs from both countries to support and promote women’s entrepreneurship.
